We have moved venue (still within Wanstead) to a lovely Grade 11 listed church – Wanstead United Reformed Church on Nightingale Lane and our first fair of 2015 will be 28 February.
I’ve been looking back over the past six years of the fair and thought I would show you some of the fabulous items we’ve had at the fair.
So, you can expect more of the same this year. At the February fair we are delighted that Rupert will be joining us offering his collection of vintage toys, comics and other “Oh I used to have one of those”
Jamie will be back with his very trendy, vintage range of specs and sunglasses. I’ve got my eye on several pairs!
Valerie from Hunting Grounds will be bringing her native French Brocante collection including old French school charts and decorative objects from the 1930’s-60s.
Vintage Adverts are very collectable, I love all the old fashion ads, especially the Chanel perfume bottles – they look great framed in the bathroom or kitchen. Another new stallholder, William will be bringing his vast collection of vintage adverts and ephemera – you’ll be sure to spot one you simply must have.
We welcome WowRetro to the fair who offer a fab array of men’s and women’s wear – including vintage motorcycle jackets, military jackets and a great selection of vintage fashion. Here’s a gorgeous green crepe Ossie Clark for Radley dress and I rather have my eye on the very on trend suede skirt.
For the interior Lucinda from Brixton Vintage is selling glassware, art deco pieces, kitchenalia and household items.
Nicole, who usually works on the most fabulous costumes for film and television, will be selling vintage jewellery and specialist handbags, such as this fine example of a leather 1920s handbag with matching purse depicting Mount Fuji (one of the most photographed mountains in the world).
And to bring a fresh spring colour to the fair, Lindsay is bringing her collection of early plastic and Bakelite containers – they looked fab last time all beautifully displayed – even her partner supported her and sported a green beard for the day! We were all very impressed.
Of course we have our wonderful regular stallholders attending: Debbie with her vast collection of vintage handbags; Kaye & Margaret selling vintage fashion and accessories; Adrienne with a passion for Deco; Frances & David selling ephemera, books, cards and Clarice Cliff; Jennie selling haberdashery and gorgeous buttons, Robert & Marie with a fantastic array of vintage fashion, accessories and delightful finds from their trips to France and Mel with her lovely dresses, shoes and accessories – just to mention a few.
We are thrilled to be offering a workshop by Mary Jane Baxter – make a vintage style fascinator see feature http://lovevintage.co.uk/index.php/2015/01/mary-jane-baxter-workshop
The workshops are one and a half hours and we are running three during the day, the 1.30pm is fully booked but we have a few spaces left on the 11.30am and 3.30pm. The cost of the workshop is £5.00 and includes free entry into the fair and all your materials.
We also welcome The Great British Tearoom who will be serving delish treats for morning and afternoon tea and light lunches.
We look forward to welcoming you to the fair. Don’t forget new opening hours of 11.00 am – 5.00 pm
