Looking forward to opening the doors on Saturday 7th September for the Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair. Lots of our lovely regular stallholders have been sourcing around Europe and the UK to bring you some fabulous buys.
Each fair we also like to bring you a selection of new dealers who also offer quality, genuine vintage items.
We would like to welcome Catherine from The Purple Collection who has been visiting her native Brittany to source you the most lovely French linens, lace and french brocante items. In particular she loves the La dentelle Bretonne work – the exquisite crochet lace work often made into table runners, doilies and gloves. Catherine will be bringing a selection of this beautiful work to the fair.
If you have an interest in Antique linens it is well worth buying a copy of The Book of Fine Linen (Francoise de Bonneville) which invites you in to the world of heirloom household fabrics, their manufacture, use, care and embellishment. The book is also filled with a lovely array of visual material from archival photographs, vintage advertisements, paintings, old department store catalogues and especially commissioned photography.
We are thrilled to be welcoming back Vintage Glitz N Bitz – Mel offers wonderful vintage glamour in her selection of handbags, shoes, jewellery, coats and other great finds.
I had to use all my inner resources not to ask her to keep this one aside for me!
Adrienne who runs her Etsy shop SmokyPearls will be back with a selection of Art Deco jewellery, vintage haberdashery and lovely silky boudoir ensembles.
Sheridan is back with her eclectic range of homewares and one of her items for sale will be this pastel Arcopel tea set made in France in the 1960’s which would make a wonderful addition to your teatime!
Talking of teatime – Lou will be back in the Vintage Cafe serving an array of her homemade cakes and other delectable morsels along with light lunches.
We are also delighted to announce that ex-Miss Belfast, turned vintage jazz singer Megan McConnell will be entertaining you with her dulcet tones. Megan takes her inspiration from old school greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Billie Holiday and will be performing at 1.30pm.
Dress up in your best vintage finery as there will be a BEST DRESSED prize presented at 2.15 pm
We look forward to seeing you on the 7th September.
