See you at our next fair on Saturday 1st March 2025

Saturday 8th June is our third Anniversary and we have a fabulous line-up of vintage sellers eager to sell you their gorgeous wares.  Keep up-to-date with all the latest news on twitter @LoveVintageCary

However firstly we would like to announce that we are in the new Rough Guide to Vintage London which was published on 1 May.  The guide includes a collection of over 200 vintage shops, purveyors, fairs, beauty specialists, venues, events and repairs and restoration.  The book also includes trendy boot fairs but sadly doesn’t include two not-to-be-missed booties which I love going to – Chiswick School on the first Sunday of every month and of course the long-standing Battersea boot fair, both of which have a fantastic selection of vintage sellers.

Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair are listed as “the rising star in the vintage circuit”

Debuting at the fair will be Ultrasounda fifty-strong choir who will be entertaining us with songs from the fabulous fifties – not to be missed! Here are some of them in rehearsals but of course you won’t recognise them on the day as they will be decked out in their fifties finery. Showcasing at 12.30 and again at 1.30pm in the garden cafe.

And just a reminder to bring along your June copy of Homes & Antiques Magazine for the 2-FOR-1 entry.

On 8th June we have our lovely regulars attending, this is what they brought last fair so expect the same top quality items.  We have a strict date cut off on all stock of 1980’s unless it is the odd top designer piece which will surely be a collectable vintage number in years to come.

Well what can you expect from the next fair?

Delighted to announce that Graham from Green Parrot Collectables and Vintage Perfumes will be bringing his amazing collection of vintage perfumes.  His collection stood at 2764 with 770 miniatures at last count.  I went to visit him (see my blog  On the Scent) and was blown away with his wonderful collection. Of course he can’t bring it all but he will be selecting around 400 of his favourite and popular ones for Wanstead on 8th June including this rare Mary Quant P.M perfume in a black and gold egg from the 1960’s.  He will also be bringing a selection of related compacts, make-up and designer vintage jewellery.

He also has some fine examples of Art Deco perfume bottles – you can decant a modern perfume into an old vintage bottle. Just a little dab behind the ear before heading off to the Great Gatsby.  Or why not buy a collectable bottle to adorn your dressing table, its all the rage!

June George return with their lovely collection hand selected vintage and retro dresses. Gorgeous fabric prints and styles from the 1950 to the 1980s including handmade dress suits, 50s tea dresses, 60s minis and lovely evening wear.

Emma and Dominic from Emma Loves will be selling outside in the Gazebo.  “Emma Loves source one-off pieces of vintage furniture and homewares to design conscious customers who don’t want their homes to look like everybody else”. Emma says she has always been drawn to the shapes and the colours of the products, textiles and clothes from the 1940-1960s.  They have been trading for over two years and have shipped items to most parts of the world – even to a few celebrities!

I thought these images were priceless! From a 1960s “Keeping Fit for all ages” book I purchased – these were exercises for the housewife whilst she was doing the housework!! Yeah right.
