See you at our next fair on Saturday 29th August 2026

What’s in Store for 8 December 2012?

Great vintage finds are in store for 8 December Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair.

We are thrilled to be mentioned in the November Country Living Magazine.  They have compiled a ‘My Vintage Notebook’ for readers to use and at the back they have a Sourcebook listing great shops and fairs.

And guess what?!  Wanstead Vintage Fashion & Brocante Fair is listed under London fairs, one of the few that they have chosen for the area. Thank you Country Living. x

We have a great line-up of dealers ready to sell their gorgeous wares to you. Our lovely regulars, of which we mention a few below, will be selling:-

June – classic men’s and womenswear from 1920 – 1980
Karina – women’s clothing & accessories from 1950-1980
Paul – vintage maps, books, prints and ephemera
Helen – homewares from 1920-1970
Helen’s mid century furniture
The Tea Lady – Art Nouveau to 1970s tea and tableware
Kaye & Margaret – clothes and accessories up to 1980s
Razzle Dazzle are back with their stunning, authentic 1950s ladies and gents clothing and accessories including a lovely selection of thermoset jewellery (thermoset, a type of plastic, includes Bakelite and was used in the early 20th century for jewellery) – highly collectable now.
Lottie is bringing lots of shimmer and sparkle for the festive season with sparkling diamante jewellery, and shimmering aurora borealis crystal jewellery plus lovely Trifari and Sphinx jewellery, lead crystal perfume atomisers, vanity sets and evening wear, including a very collectable 1960’s John Bates for Jean Varon pale pink silk gown with floral detail on the bodice – Bate’s iconic empire-line cut.
Lottie’s lovelies – all for sale!

We also welcome to the fair:

Mary & Veronica selling a range of vintage homeware and china

“Vintage Gisele” shows fashion for grown ups, children and dolls.
As an avid collector of antique dolls and textiles for over 40 years and having written five books on dolls, it is not surprising that Gisela’s eye for fashion drew her to vintage clothes and accessories. She collects anything quirky, interesting, colourful and unusual and she can’t wait to show her fashion goodies at Wanstead.

Nostalgia Exchange – selling their vintage homeware & kitchenalia

Anna and her mum (a trader for over 20 years) set up The Nostalgia Exchange, with the aim of taking people on a little trip down memory lane, filling them with fond times. Anna has an obsession with enamelware so a lot of what they sell involves bits of enamel and tins. Kitchenalia is another love along with vintage children’s toys and books.  Their blog is http://thenostalgiaexchange.wordpress.com/

There will of course be lots of unique Christmas presents – so start crossing off your present list:-

Homes & Gardens Magazine 1952 December

I’m sure you will get a few from Alison ( Silver and Grey) who sells a lovely range of vintage gifts just perfect for Christmas. For a bit of the ‘Downton’ effect she presents silver-plated tableware and trays, with chinaware and glasses or other silver gifts.  Beautifully presented with custom-made velvet gift bags and a lovely mini history about the piece.

But finally look what I just had to buy on eBay – an original Wire Photo (NY) of a Pierre Cardin Women’s Suit  (29/2/1960)

Caption reads: Pierre Cardin created this youthful, collarless suit of Orlon and Wool. Note dropped shoulders, loose sleeves on the red tweed jacket (photo b & w)
